Pregnancy & Birth

You deserve more than a pamphlet and a prenatal vitamin. I work with pregnant women across all three trimesters to support your body, your baby, and your wellbeing - with food, herbs, and care that's actually built around you.

Pregnancy is one of the most nutritionally demanding times in a woman's life. Your body is building an entirely new human - and it needs significant support to do that well, while also keeping you feeling as well as possible along the way.

Whether you're deep in the fog of first trimester nausea, navigating the nutritional demands of the second trimester, or preparing your body for birth, there is so much that can be done to support you at every stage.

At Little Bloom, I work with women across all three trimesters, bringing together clinical herbal medicine, nutrition, and a food-first approach grounded in current evidence and ancestral wisdom.

"Pregnancy care isn't one-size-fits-all, and it doesn't start and stop at the antenatal appointment. The women I work with often come in overwhelmed - by symptoms, by conflicting advice, by trying to do everything right. My job is to cut through that noise and give them a clear, personalised plan that supports both their body and their baby, trimester by trimester." - Caitlin Stores, Clinical Herbalist (BComp Med, Adv Dip WHM), NSW, Australia

Research published in 2025 found that nausea and vomiting affects up to 85% of pregnant women, typically beginning between weeks four and seven and peaking around week nine. It's one of the most common reasons women seek additional support in early pregnancy - and one of the areas where the right nutritional and herbal intervention can make a significant difference to how you feel day to day (MDPI).

What we look at together changes depending on your trimester and what you're experiencing, but commonly includes nausea, fatigue and first trimester symptoms, key nutrient status throughout pregnancy (iron, choline, omega-3s, folate, B12, vitamin D), digestion and food tolerance, anxiety and nervous system support, and birth preparation in the third trimester.

In my clinical experience, individualised nutrition and lifestyle support is one of the most impactful things a pregnant woman can have access to - and one of the things most women aren't getting enough of through standard antenatal care alone.

Every woman I work with gets a protocol that reflects where she is right now - her symptoms, her diet, her lifestyle, and what her body is asking for at that particular stage of pregnancy. Nothing generic, nothing copied from a handout.
