Pregnancy and early motherhood can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to find the right support in a new area. After moving to the Mid North Coast when I was three months pregnant and experiencing my own pregnancy and postpartum here, I quickly realised how valuable it is to know who to turn to, where to go, and what options are available.
That’s why I created this Free Guide to Pregnancy & Postpartum Support in the Nambucca Valley - a free resource designed to help local mums (and mums-to-be) feel more supported, connected, and at home in the Nambucca Valley. Apart from being a clinical herbalist who loves working with pregnant and postpartum women, I’m also a mum who knows what it feels like to crave community and calm in the midst of change.
I’ve had both a beautiful planned home birth (with a hospital transfer and a short stay in the special care nursery), and a calm and supported birth centre birth. Both were deeply transformative in their own way, and both showed me just how important it is to feel held throughout the journey, no matter where or how you give birth.
The practitioners and services included in this guide are those I’ve come to trust through my own experience, and to be completely honest, they aren’t the first I tried - I went through a few less-than-ideal fits before finding the people and spaces that aligned.
This guide is the result of those lived experiences, shared with the hope that it might shorten your own trial-and-error phase and help you feel more at ease.
